Over 35 Million Kenya Shillings relief supplies has been supplied to over 10,000 people from January 2011, to  mid September 2011. The said funds also includes starting of several sustainable projects in Samburu. One Pan Dam has been built, that will be able to harvest over 100,000 cubic metres of rain water and supply water to over 18,000 people and their livestock.

Three Sand Dams are being built in 3 different strategic places in Samburu that will be able to provide water to an extra 9,000 persons with their livestock.

Over 3000 people have been seen and treated, and supplied with medicines by our Mobile Clinic Teams.

From September 2011, we have managed to to help around 400 family Units in the worst hit parts of this famine in Turkana i.e Lodwar, Lekeror and Kakuma Centres where relief supplies has been issued once every month. We are assisting the said people through our 9 churches in that region.

Without disclosing much information, our interventions have extended into Somalia. The relief supplies generally include s :-Maize,Beeans,unmix,clocking fat, sugar, large quantities of water and many of our operations will be accompanied by a mobile medical clinic.

Praying in my office the other day, and at the same time looking back to all the achievements made since we started these operations,I find my heart so much thrilled to the fact that we have actually saved several thousands from imminent deaths, several long term based project have also been started, and hope has been re-born among the targeted people. The feeling is just awesome when I see what meager  resources well stewarded can result to. This makes me to sincerely express on behalf of all the beneficiaries, my teams and myself a heartfelt thank you to all our friends and partners (both local and from the International Community) who have made it possible for us to sustain and maintain the relief programs through much love and generosity expressed. A big thank you!

We also are very grateful to several Kenyan Companies, our churches and individuals who have either given us food and/or monies to assist with the ongoing relief efforts to the affected. Let me sincerely thank the Newfrontiers Family of Churches from all over the World for the amazing response. I have been deeply touched by the generosity by churches from the USA, UK,other nations in  Europe, India, Dubai and Africa. Let me extend our gratitude also, to the following:-

Our dear brother and friend Bob Harton who has managed to amass amazing response on our behalf from Germany through his organization   Hope, passing such response to us to assist the affected. All partners of Hope, a huge thank you!

ORA Organisation also from Germany has partnered with us making it possible for us to honor the commitment in Turkana, this partnership goes all the way to the end of this year. Again to ORA a huge thank you!

Sharon Community Church in South Africa for your donation. Thank you so much Mike Steel for making that to happen.

Our long standing friends Mick and Mary and the Welcome Church for your gifts, thank you!

My dear brother and friend of long standing relationship R.G Hardy and your ministry for giving us the 1st donation that helped us in kicking off the construction of the Sand Dams in Samburu.

Very special thanks to Compassion International for assisting us with a borehole in our Wamba base. The borehole will provide water to so many in Samburu  town and the surrounding villages.

I will repeat the same message and say that much has been achieved....BUT the CRISIS still remains with us,as well as much suffering and great need still being witnessed in the areas of our out reach, more so in Turkana where our teams are reporting that things are pathetic and requires urgent response. In fact I have just recieved very sad news that Ekuam Ngilisho from Rumuruti a father of seven has just lost one of his children to starvation,William Lingilisho aged 15 years died on the 28th September 2011. All this makes it very clear that the remaining months of this year and the three months of next year will be very difficult months and months that will require much support and humanitarian help as we wait for the harvest of the planted seeds in mid October 2011 if rains come as expected.

I do not know how I could pass this message of the great need of funds to maintain the relief work, supplying of planting seeds early next month ,and completion of the started water related projects in the next 6 months, i e October to December 2011, and January to March 2012.The need of funds to enable us meet our budgets and honor our commitment is much, this makes me to once again make a passionate appeal to all our dear friends to once again stand with us for the next 6 months which will be very difficult and challenging months as we desire to makes sure the good work that has been achieved doesn't waste away, but also in helping those that we have been assisting to move on with their lives despite the effects from the drought/famine.

Before i conclude, the following information is important and worth noting:

(1) We do have funds to complete the two ongoing sand dams.

(2) We all the same do not have funds for the remaining two sand dams in Samburu, We also plan to start at least two more sand dams in Mbeere to mitigate the acute problem of water in this dry area.

(3) The pan dam has been completed and paid for.

(4) The bore hole water project in Wamba ,Samburu has fully been paid for by Compassion International.

(5) We will be supplying 350-400 bags planting seeds to over 1600 families worth kshs 2.5 Million.

(6) We also plan to give over 60 camels@a cost 60,000Ksh per a camel, 120 cows@15,000Ksh per a cow, and around 600 goats@8,000Ksh  per goat as a way of giving back the only livelihood to those especially from the pastoralists communities.

In the next updates, I will include some testimonies from the beneficiaries of how they have benefited and appreciate the efforts of the ongoing relief work.

Thank you so much, but let us maintain our support to the affected

May God bless you and thank you so much for your continued faith in us and our faithful stewardship.
